Helen L (Overholser) McDorman

Helen L. McDorman, 88 of Fort Wayne passed away on Wednesday, 20th of March, 2024 after a long courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on June 27, 1935 to Earl & Bessie Overholser.

Helen retired from GTE and spent many of her retired years working for Kirby Veterinary Clinic. She loved God, family and friends. She loved the beach, collecting seashells and Angels, listening to old time rock-n-roll, and reading.

She is survived by her 5 children, Roger Buss of Ft Wayne, IN, Lori Fontenot of Baton Rouge, LA, Jeffrey (Tina) Buss of Auburn, IN, Michael (Julie) McDorman of New Haven, IN, and Tina (Sarah Garman) McDorman of Ft Wayne, IN. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, previous spouse, Charles McDorman of NE, and her brother-in-law Kenny Alexander of Kendallville, IN.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl & Bessie Overholser; her siblings, Monroe Overholser “Minny”, Ruth & Ralph Bodenhafer, Florence & Norm Reeves, and Lois Alexander. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be sent to Parkview Cancer Institute. Please join the family in celebrating Helen by wearing her favorite color of purple.

Service will be held on Tuesday March, 26th, at 3pm with visitation 2 hours prior at Midwest Funeral Home 1415 W. Coliseum Blvd. Fort Wayne Indiana, 46808
