Bernadette Kimmel

Bernadette “Bernie” (Faith/Spencer) Kimmel of Fort Wayne, IN gained her angel wings
unexpectedly on March 18,2024 at the age of 72. She was born in Virginia but spent most of her
life in Indiana. She was a graduate of Indiana State University with a B.S. in Education and
Literature. She was an avid reader, loved to cook/bake and sew. She had a passion and large
heart for animals of all kinds and would go to great lengths for any animal in need.
Bernie will be greatly missed by everyone that she knew and touched many lives with her kind
heart.
She is survived by a son, Richard (Julia) Spencer of Terre Haute; a daughter Courtney (Blake)
Walker of Fort Wayne; 6 Grandchildren, Nick (Brandy) Spencer; Hannah Spencer; Owen
Spencer; Avah Spencer of Terre Haute; Evan Walker and Landin Walker of Fort Wayne; 4
Great-Grandchildren and 2 cats.
She is preceded in death by her husband, father, mother, and brother.
She will be cremated with a family ceremony on a later date.
